Since 1960, the authentic taste of Sorrento
The history of Zi’Ntonio Restaurant is a story of family, passion and tradition that has its roots in the heart of Sorrento.
It all started in 1960, when Antonio Russo – “Zi’Ntonio” for everyone – opened his restaurant in the historic center of the city. Immediately, the restaurant conquers the palate of Sorrento and the first tourists with the dishes of Neapolitan cuisine: Sorrentina gnocchi, fresh fish, pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven and the unmistakable warmth of home
In 1975, the restaurant moved to its current location on Via Luigi de Maio, and officially took the name of Zi’Ntonio, in honor of its founder. The restaurant grows and renovates, but never loses the soul of yesteryear.
In the following years, his son Mariano Russo, together with his wife Michela, carried on the family business with love and dedication, turning Zi’Ntonio into a gastronomic landmark on the Sorrento Peninsula. Their passion is reflected in every dish, every smile offered to clients.
A mural dedicated to Diego Armando Maradona inside the restaurant also tells of the deep Neapolitan soul that lives within its walls. The family tradition has been handed down over time and continues today with Michela, Antonio and Rossella, who together lead the restaurant with the same love, the same respect for local cuisine and the same desire to make every customer feel at home. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen tells a story made of passion, genuine raw materials and a deep connection to the Sorrento tradition.
Zi’Ntonio is now more than a restaurant: it is a place where you can breathe in the scents of yesteryear, listen to familiar accents and enjoy recipes handed down from generation to generation, with an eye always on quality and hospitality.
